Climate Feelings
2D Animation
Climate Feelings is a five-part cutout animation series for children aged 10+, addressing climate change through emotional storytelling. Created for the KIKA cosmos, it helps kids understand and process feelings like fear, guilt, and hope, offering a unique blend of climate education and psychological insight through character-driven visuals.
We handled the animation production starting from the storyboard, covering animation, compositing, and rigging.
Preparing the Production
We reviewed the provided storyboards and character designs before developing the rigs and test animations that would serve as the foundation for the series. This early development phase helped establish the workflows, animation style, and technical framework used throughout production.
Animation and Compositing
The compositing stage involved a significant amount of animation work in its own right. Effects, camera movement, and additional motion elements were carefully synchronized with the keyframe animation created in Harmony to ensure a cohesive and polished final result.
Bringing the Message to Life
The final film embraces a true cutout-animation style, combining character-driven storytelling with thoughtful visual design. Together, these elements help make the complex subject of climate change more engaging, understandable, and accessible for younger audiences.
