The 2018 Wrestling World Championship, hosted in Budapest, Hungary, gathered the world’s elite wrestlers for a week of intense competition. Held at the Papp László Sports Arena, the event highlighted Hungary’s storied wrestling heritage and showcased thrilling matches across various weight classes and styles.
We created visuals for a massive LED system, treating it as a cohesive surface to ensure a seamless and impactful display. Additionally, we designed a digital mascot with various animations, delivering engaging greetings and fun moments throughout the matches to enhance the audience experience.
A Major Milestone
This project marked one of our first major sports events, providing valuable experience in delivering content for large-scale live productions and opening the door to future opportunities in the field.
Creative Concept
To bring energy and personality to the event, we developed the concept of a playful lion character that could leap from screen to screen. The animation was triggered directly by the media server, creating a dynamic experience across the entire display system.
Arena-Wide Experience
One of the highlights of the event was the finals player entrance. By synchronizing the entire LED setup as a single visual canvas, we were able to create animations that originated at the entrance gate and spread throughout the arena. Each finalist received a unique visual identity—fire for the red side and thunder for the blue—turning the player introductions into a large-scale immersive spectacle.
